Terra Nova Practice

Here are the link to practice taking the Terra Nova online.  We have watched the demo video that is 8-10 minute video to your students and then you can practice on the smart board in front of the class.   The more comfortable they feel with the process the more successful they will be at taking the test.

A Note from the TREE club

Tiffany Ridge Elementary Environmentalist Club needs your help!

Tiffany Ridge Families we need your help!  The Tiffany Ridge Elementary Environmentalist Club (TREE Club) is collecting money to plant trees in the Atlantic Forest in Brazil.  This is one of the largest tropical forests in the world and only 12% of it remains.  It provides clean water and hydro energy for over 130 million people in Brazil.  The Nature Conservancy is working to bring the forest back from the brink by restoring 1 million acres of land by planting 1 billion trees by 2015.  This restoration effort has the ability to remove 4 million tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere every year.  If you want more information about The Nature Conservancy or The Plant a Billion Trees Campaign please visit http://www.plantabillion.org/.

We will be collect money from Wednesday, March 20- Wednesday, April 3.  Please feel free to donate what you can to this great cause; this can be spare change to dollar bills.  For every dollar donated the conservancy will plant one tree!  What a great way to help our children at Tiffany Ridge become more environmentally conscious!

PJ and Hot Cocoa Party!!!

In all of the excitement today I forgot about the PJ and Hot Cocoa party!!! Students earned the reward with their behavior and we are celebrating tomorrow, since it was the best fit with our schedule! Please remind your students about our celebration tomorrow and even if they forget their PJs we will all enjoy the hot cocoa! Please let me know if you have any questions!

A message from the cafe...

Here are a few reminders from your Tiffany Ridge Cafeteria,
• Accounts with negative balances need to be paid, even if your child is bringing lunch from home. All accounts with a negative balance of $6.00 or more will be given a cheese sandwich until account is paid. If your child is lunch from home and they have a negative balance they will NOT be allowed to charge, and that does include a milk or juice.
• We do have a website that you can use to set up an email reminder when your child’s account falls below a $ amount that you can set. This is also where you can pay online and see what your entire student has purchased. The website is www.mypaymentsplus.com, you will need the students ID# and pin number. Your child should know this; they use it in the computer lab also. If they do not you may contact me and I would be happy to help. I encourage all parents to do this.
• We have many students that like to order a 2nd entrée for lunch and it is an extra cost of $1.25 it does not include a second milk/juice. All students are welcome to do this but they MUST have the money to purchase. And if they choose to order a 2nd entrée it must be done in the morning in the classroom, not as they come through the serving line.
• Snacks are offered a la carte. They are an extra purchase not included with lunch. The prices do vary from $.25 to $.75. A few of the popular choices are bottled water for $.50, baked Cheetos for $.60, gummy bears for $.50, and teddy grahams for $.50. We try to sell snacks every day, but with the high demand the snacks run out quickly, therefore we have to wait on the next shipment.
