for the Time For Kids Person of the Year. There are 12
candidates who have been nominated. Students have
chosen who they think will be the best pick and will be
posting comments below to try to persuade you.

The TFK POY Nominees:
I think that the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is a great nominee for the Time for Kids Person of the Year.
ReplyDeleteOne reason that they would be a great nominee is because, they have a history of pushing limits of science. The JPL has done many things that no other group has done before.
Another reason that I think the JPL is a good nominee is because they persevere even when their mission seems hard. They failed many times, but made changes and learned from their mistakes.
Lastly, I think that the JPL would be a good nominee because, they are changing the way that we look at the world. Their rovers cameras have produced the clearest pictures known.
Because of their perseverance, their willingness to try new things, and their excitement to try new and scary things I think that the Jet Propulsion Laboratory would be a great nominee!
The woman of team U.S.A.
ReplyDeletea tremendes teamsmeanship. The U.S woman's team won half of the 46 gold medals.
The u.s women have good attitudes! they won 58 meadals and even though they wern't all gold they were still proud.
The usa women's were determind. Gaddy Doulas and Aly raisman faught hard to win.
The usa woman should be the Time for Kids Person of the Year. Good teamsmenship. good atude.they were ditermend.

ReplyDeleteFirst, it took five years but he managed to jump off the edge of space with help from the Bull stratos to help him prepare for the jump!
Next, Baumgartner broke three world records;the highest handeled baloon flight! Next, the highest sky dive ever! Last,the fastestjump known to man!
Last, He started helping the wings for life spinal cord reserch foundation!
irst lady Michelle Obama spent most of her time helping her husbandd with the election and still have her heart on helping kids.

Michewlle Obama interduced lets move to kids for them to get off the games and go outside and get in shape.
I think she is a really good person and that she should be the winner of the time for kids program.

He is toughf because he was 24 MILES above the Groung. And when he jumped he was a OKAY?!? If he would have jumped rong he could have DIED!
He is cind of CRAZY! His jump was 833.9 miles an hour. The speed of sound is 761.2 miles an hour! He went FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF SOUND!

Why Malala Yousafzai should be a winning TFK's nominee.Here are some reasons. The first reason is Malala Yousafzai 14,has become a voice for education and women rights.Evidence Malala Yousafzi was a internet blogger or writer when she was eleven years old. Second reason Malala Yousafzai was shot on the way home from school in Mingora,Pakistan.Evidence Malala was targeted because she is vocal about girls' rights to educautionin Swat Valley, Pakistan. Third reason Petition in Malala's name using the slogan "I am Malala".Evidence The petition demanded that all children worldwide be in school by the end of 2015. Conclusion I think Malala Yousafzai was a good person because,she helped women's education.Something happened do you think this is awsome because I don't she got shot on the way home.She made a petition and a slogan it said "I am Malala" that's why she should be the winning TFK's nominee.

If the military wouldn't go into places that they do people would die. Active duty millitary remain stationed in more than 150 countries, working toward peace and freedom.
The US Army representts the US over seas. They fight proudly during crisis in other countries.
The US Army special forces help and save all over the world. This and many more reasons is why they should be the time for kids person of the year.
The Men and Women of the U.S. Armed forces show bravery and perservirence in times of crisis. When Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast,on October 29th us armed forces where among the first people to respond.

The efforts of the armed forces keep inproving. The efforts of the army, navy, air force, marine corps, and the coast gaurd are on going.
If you put together that they keep ther skills sharp, the first to poeple respond, and they keep improving, if you put those together the armed forces should be the poeple of the year.

she fights for childrens rights.she has spoken publialy about childrens rights and has been nominated for an international peace prize.

This year Michelle released her first book, American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America for healthy eating for children.
Michelle and Dr.Jill Biden join forces to support military familys.
Because she supported her husband, wrote a book to help children learn about eating healthy, and she supports military familys, she is my choice for TFK's 2012 person of the year.

If the U.S didn't go to Afraganastan the U.S wouldn't fight Afraganastan any more.
Our armed forces are role models of the physical determination, discpline and dedication.
If the armed forces weren't a role model the U.S military would be down.
Active-duty military remain stationed in more than 150 contries working toward peace and protecting freedom.
If the active military men wasn't stationed in different contries there would be no peace in those contries.
Because of thier bravery, helpfulness and kindness. I think the U.S armed forces should be people of the year.
In 2011 she won the Nation Peace Award for all her bravery in her writing about difficulties of life. While still educating life in Tabiban. This is only one of her greatnesses.

I think Brock Oboma should be the person of the year for Time for Kids. 1 reason is that he's presedent he's in charge for proteting are lives (so is the milletary but you know what I mean)plus he's going to be presedent 8 years in a row. ReplyDeleteI think the Us Army is brave to go to battle for our country. In 2012 the men and women of the Armed forces put their skills to work both at home and in foreign countries.
Being helpful is a great skill. The US Armed Forces rescued people trapped during Hurricane Sandy.
Physical determination, means using your muscles and body to reach your goals. The US Armed Forces does this in many ways. One way that they show physical strength is by competing in the Olympic Games.
These are some of the reasons that the US Armed Forces would be a great nominee.

ReplyDeleteA reason is when Phelps lost a medal for his team his insperation never went with it. When Phelps lost a medal for his team his team he was determined to do it right.
Another reason is when Phelps dove into the water he raised a family of swimmers. When Michal got into the water he raised a big family of swimmers who were determined to win.
Lastly Phelps is celabrated as a role model and a athlete. To many kids Michal Phelps is a huge role model and they are inspired by him.
So thats why i think Phelps is a good person for the t.f.k's he is never a quiter he is inspiring many kids and raised a family of good swimmers!!!

ReplyDeleteOne reason why she should is because she wrote a book about what happened in her life and that is hard.
Here is what happened . She was coming into the ice cream shop then she saw a girl with severe facial deformity. Then all of the sudden her youngest child starts to cry. She instantly grabbed her children and stayed away.
When she got home she thought about what she did to that girl. Since she did not feel good about what she did she spread the word that she would start an anti-bulling program. To help stop bulling .
So because she wrote a book , wanted to not be mean , and staring an anti-bulling program . That is why I think that R.J Palacio should be the nominee.
